Who said going vegan couldn’t be sexy? Slutty Vegan restaurant just raised $25 million in capital and was given a $100 million valuation. “We’re valued at $100 MM with this round of funding, but I’m not stopping until we’re worth a billion,” Cole told What Now Atlanta. Slutty Vegan was founded by HBCU alum Pinky Cole in 2018 and within its first 6 months it was already doing $4 million in revenue. To celebrate this latest achievement, Cole served as the commencement speaker for her alma mater, Clark Atlanta University. She also left a gift behind for the graduating class of 2022– each senior was gifted with their own LLC so that they can begin their own wealth building journey.
Slutty Vegan currently has 4 locations in the Atlanta area. There are plans for an additional 10 locations, including Birmingham and Brooklyn. Pinky Cole is blazing trails and also elevating others along the way. Through her Pinky Cole Foundation, Cole is empowering young people in the areas of entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Pinky Cole is a success by every possible metric and especially as it relates to empowering her community. She’s also an anomaly. Most businesses fail and those that don’t generally never get valued at $100 million. For a business that opened only in 2018, however, the achievement is all the more unlikely. But then again, Black woman HBCU grads are a different breed altogether.
